Dallas police are looking for the person responsible for the death of young artist and aspiring model Ja’Meesia Anderson Busby. Even with the release of home surveillance footage years ago, there still haven’t been any breaks in the case.

Ulisaja Thomas said the simplest things bring her daughter to mind. Busby was just 24 years old when she was shot and killed in April 2022.

Thomas said not a day goes by that she doesn’t think of her.

“I miss her smile, I miss her presence, her creativity. It’s so many things I can say,” Thomas said.

NBC 5 spoke to Thomas in 2023, nearly a year after her daughter’s murder. At the time, Dallas police had just released home surveillance footage.
