The Los Angeles Mission women's volleyball team is No. 7 in the state rankings, and the Eagles looked every bit of that Wednesday night.
L.A. Mission out-hit and out-served the Hancock College side in a 3-0 sweep in this Western State Conference North Division match at Hancock's Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-17, 25-16, 25-14.
The Eagles improved to 16-1, 2-0. The Bulldogs (7-8, 0-1) dropped their conference opener.
Still, "I was really proud of how our girls played against them," said second-year Hancock coach Megan Phillips.
"We just need to be more consistent. (L.A. Mission) is a darn good team."
