MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A candid conversation tonight as city and state leaders address concerns from Midtown residents.

It's the beginning of a series of talks coined "Moving Memphis Forward" as speakers try to answer questions and provide solutions.

"It really takes a real true effort to be ignorant in today's time because we are in the age of information," said State Rep. Antonio Parkinson (D-Memphis).

State Rep. Antonio Parkinson is setting the tone of the conversation about battling misinformation.

Parkinson, along with other city and state leaders addressing concerns as federal resources from the Trump administration intensify their crime-fighting efforts.

"We were not ready on the first day to put our officers out because we needed to have some conversations," said Davis.
