More than 10 ambulances were stationed near a collapsed Islamic school building in Indonesia's East Java province on Friday, as rescue workers pressed on with their search for nearly 60 students trapped under the debris. The scene was reported by a Reuters journalist on-site.

The Al Khoziny school in Sidoarjo town crumbled on Monday during afternoon prayers, burying hundreds of teenage students. The collapse is attributed to the building's foundations being unable to endure ongoing construction on upper floors. Most of the trapped students are teenage boys aged 13 to 19. Rescue operations included the deployment of a crane to clear debris.
