SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — In a vote of six to one, members of the Sevierville Planning and Zoning Commission decided not to move forward with D.R. Horton's master plan off Red Bank Road.

The plan would have brought more than 1000 new single-family homes to the area. While the master plan has been struck down, City Development Director Corey Divel said D.R. Horton still has another proposal.

"They've already put together a conceptual plan using the current regulations that we already have, and so we're expecting next month to consider site plan for development down there with townhomes now," Divel said. "The new zoning was going to only be single-family and two-family dwellings, but the base zoning actually allows for townhome units."
