CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Jackson volleyball proved they are the class of the Heartland once again, winning the SEMO Conference Tournament for the 7th-straight season.
The Lady Indians, who already clinched the regular season conference championship at the end of September, ensured they’d sweep both conference awards, defeating Saxony Lutheran in two straight sets to secure victory.
Thursday’s tournament started with 13 teams. Jackson, Cape Central, and Portageville earned byes into the quarterfinals.
In the quarters, contenders started to fall, with 6-seeded Saxony Lutheran eliminating 3-seed Portageville; the other quarterfinal winners were Jackson, Cape Central, and Notre Dame.
