Phoenix police officers were involved in a second shooting in just one day, this time near 16th Street and Buckeye Road, spokesperson Sgt. Brian Bower said.
Police posted about the shooting just before 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2.
The person involved was struck by gunfire and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Bower.
"No officers or community members were injured," Bower said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety major incident division will be taking over the investigation, Bower said.
Earlier in the day around 8 a.m., a man armed with a knife was shot by Phoenix police officers near Seventh Street and Sunland Avenue, spokesperson Sgt. Rob Scherer said.
