BATAVIA — North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters spokesmen are hammering home the importance of hiring local labor on construction job sites in Genesee and other Western New York counties.
“We have put over 200 local people to work on the Cider Solar Project (in the towns of Oakfield and Elba),” said Tom Iorizzo, NASRCC council representative, at Tuesday’s GLOW With Your Hands high school career exploration event at the Genesee County Fairgrounds. “They’re all earning prevailing wage and they’re all earning benefit credits as they work on this project.”
