The Centre is considering a review of the difficulty levels of entrance exams such as JEE Main and NEET UG, aiming to ensure they align better with the class 12 curriculum.

According to sources, the step is being taken to reduce the dependency of students on coaching centres for admission into higher education.

The move comes amid increasing concerns over the coaching culture, which has been linked to growing stress levels, student suicides, fire safety issues and lack of adequate facilities.

Parents and faculty members of coaching institutions have often raised concerns about a mismatch between the class 12 syllabus and the difficulty level of these competitive examinations.
