ST. LOUIS — Philip Broberg had two goals and one assist, Robert Thomas added a goal and two assists and the St. Louis Blues hammered the Ottawa Senators 7-1.

Mathieu Joseph, Oskar Sundqvist, Pavel Buchnevich and Dylan Holloway scored the others for St. Louis (1-3-1), which got its first win of the pre-season. Jordan Binnington made 36 saves.

Fabian Zetterlund put Ottawa (2-3-0) on the board 45 seconds into the third period to make it a 6-1 game.

Leevi Merilainen gave up six goals on 19 shots in 36:59 of action. Mads Sogaard stopped 6-of-7 shots in relief.

The Senators will close their pre-season on the road against Montreal on Saturday. Ottawa will visit the Tampa Bay Lightning in its regular-season opener next Thursday.
