Odisha continues to grapple with the aftermath of a deep depression that crossed the coast near Gopalpur, close to the Odisha–Andhra Pradesh border, late Thursday night.
The weather system, moving in a north-northwest direction, has triggered widespread rainfall across several districts, especially in the coastal and southern regions.
Heavy Showers Lash Odisha
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Bhubaneswar, the depression has unleashed heavy to very heavy rains since Thursday. A few locations recorded extremely heavy rainfall, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
Officials have confirmed that the system is weakening and that the intensity of rainfall is expected to gradually reduce from Friday.
