Elizabeth Taylor is one of the few women in pop culture history whose romances made headlines in the same breathless manner that Taylor Swift’s love life has for the last two decades.

Swift pays tribute to the film legend, who died in 2011 at age 79, on “Elizabeth Taylor,” the second track on her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” released Oct. 3.

Swift directly addresses Taylor in the song named after her, asking, “Tell me for real/ Do you think it’s forever?” seemingly referring to a relationship. The angsty track appears to see Swift plead with the Hollywood starlet for confirmation she’s found true love.

Swift also references her past loves being remembered “in the papers, on the screen and in their minds,” much like Taylor’s many romances.
