Perplexity has made its agent-driven AI browser, Comet, accessible to all users at no cost. “Browsing is smarter with Comet,” the company claims, pledging to keep it free indefinitely as it positions the browser as a strong alternative to Google Chrome.
According to Perplexity , the Comet browser functions as a personal AI assistant capable of browsing the web, managing tabs, composing emails, shopping, and handling a variety of other tasks.
The company first introduced Comet in July exclusively for Perplexity Max subscribers at $200 per month. Since then, the waitlist has surged to “millions” of users, the startup revealed.
