Drew Huffman scored a pair of goals for Newton in its 5-4 victory against Pope John in Sparta.

Newton (4-5) led 3-1 at halftime against Pope John. In the second half, Pope John (5-4) outscored Newton 3-2 as Newton held on to win.

JT Kurilko totaled a goal with one assist for Newton. Ethan Rodriguez and Riley Flemming each scored a goal. Brad Williams, David Paz and Chase Vince-Cruz each recorded one assist.

Nicholas Acito tallied two goals with two assists for Pope John. Damian Stawowy and Landon Terrazas each scored a goal while Leo Fedullo recorded an assist.

Anthony Romeo made 10 saves for Newton. Matthew Villardo and Matthew Rivera combined to make five saves for Pope John.
