Relentless Rain Cripples Rayagada, Damages Rail Tracks and Rural Roads

H eavy rainfall caused landslides near Majhighariani Temple in Rayagada, damaging railway tracks and halting train services.

Large boulders crashed onto the tracks, breaking the line and covering it with mud and debris. Train movement between Visakhapatnam and Rayagada stopped due to the obstruction. Railway officials initiated single-line operations to manage the disruption. DRM Amitabh Singhal and senior officers arrived at the site and began restoration efforts.

Homes Collapse, Roads Washed Away

In Tikarpada village, a house collapsed due to continuous rain and landslides. No injuries were reported in the incident. Mudslides blocked PMGSY roads in Pipalguda area, cutting off access. In Gunupur block, the Titimiri–Bhimapur road washed away, disconnecting both villages.
