A Bangkok court has sentenced Ekkalak Pheanoi, the Thai shooter responsible for the assassination of Cambodian opposition politician Lim Kimya, to life in prison.

The court arrived at the decision after Ekkalak confessed to being hired for the January 7 murder, a crime initially thought to be politically motivated.
