The stampede occurred on September 27 during a rally by TVK chief and actor Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court will today hear multiple petitions related to the Karur stampede tragedy, in which 41 people lost their lives and over 100 were injured during actor-turned-politician Vijay’s rally on September 27 in Tamil Nadu.

Seven Public Interest Litigations (PILs) have been listed before the Dussehra Vacation Bench comprising Justice M. Dhandapani and Justice M. Jothiraman.

Meanwhile, the anticipatory bail pleas of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) General Secretary Anand and Nirmal Kumar will also be heard by Justice Jothiraman. Additional Public Prosecutor A. Thiruvadikumar is likely to represent the state.
