EATON — Excavators are moving dirt on the Brown Farm neighborhood parcel bounded by Collins Street to the north and Cheyenne Avenue/Weld County Road 37 to the west, according to developer Scott Renfroe, president of Foundation Builders Inc.

Town officials approved the Brown Farm planned unit development in 2022. Renfroe is working on the first phase of the project, which he said includes 167 single-family lots and 37 multi-family units. All of the lots have been sold, and the first homes are expected to start around the end of the year, he said.

“We’re excited about it,” Renfroe said.

When all is said and done, the planned unit development is expected to have up to 843 dwelling units and up to 153,389 square feet of commercial space, according to town documents. Most of the project is e
