The person identified as Uma Shankar, hailed from Naser Post Gurua village in Bihar’s Gaya district
A 32-year-old man from Bihar who was on a short trip to Arunachal Pradesh, slipped and fell to his death in the deep gorge at the Siang-Yamne River confluence near the popular Pongging Viewpoint on Thursday afternoon.
His body was recovered today. The person identified as Uma Shankar, hailed from Naser Post Gurua village in Bihar’s Gaya district. He was working as a contractual assistant manager with India Post Payments Bank at the Dhemaji Post Office in Assam.
Shankar had travelled to East Siang district as a tourist along with three friends, Kushantadip Baruah, Anup Kumar, and Subodh Kumar, after securing a tourist permit from Ruksin gate. The group was visiting the scenic Pongging View
