Melbourne shoppers have been left baffled after spotting a huge blunder with a new sign outside a shopping centre.

A photo of Melbourne Central, located in the CBD, has sparked hilarious reactions online after onlookers noticed a brand new sign included an embarassing mistake.

The shopping centre unveiled a new "Central" sign running down the side of a black structure at the entrance of the building, however one of the letters appears to be missing.

Instead of spelling out the name of the shopping centre, the sign reads "Entral", with the C nowhere to be seen.

Sharing an image of the sign on Reddit, one onlooker wrote: "This is awkward. Does anyone know the story? Is the rest of the sign coming later?"
