Questioning the intention of the BJP-constituted NDA delegation that visited Karur following the crowd crush deaths at actor Vijay’s TVK political rally, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday (October 3, 2025) charged that the visit was not an act of genuine concern, but a cheap attempt to gain political mileage ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls.

“Why is the BJP, which did not send a delegation for the Manipur violence, the Gujarat Morbi bridge collapse, or the deaths in the Maha Kumbh Mela stampede, promptly delegating a team to Karur?” Mr. Stalin asked in a social media post. “Certainly not concerned!
