BATAVIA — Genesee County’s Office for the Aging director says the OFA faces potential significant Medicaid funding loss in 2027 and is trying to find other revenue sources.

“What we’re hearing is that the impact of Medicaid (cuts) is going to have a tiered implementation. It’s going to take time, but by 2027, we’ll start to feel some of that,” OFA Director Jessica Riley said this week after giving her department’s annual report to the Human Services Committee. “The concern is that dollars that we traditionally had received will be reallocated to help other pressing needs like keeping hospitals open and things of that nature, but there’s nothing definitive and there’s no direct, ‘You get this bucket of money. We’re taking it away.’”
