Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell was involved in an astonishing bust-up with a fan at a hotel in Austria following the Ibrox side’s defeat to Sturm Graz in the Europa League. ‌

The former Everton chief, set to appoint his son to a key recruitment role at the Light Blues , was confronted by a furious punter who had travelled to watch his side lose 2-1. ‌

In leaked video footage, Thelwell is making his way out of the hotel reception when a fan can be heard saying: “That’s f****** garbage. That’s f****** rotten.” ‌

As chief executive Patrick Stewart exits the hotel, Thelwell stops in his tracks to talk to the fan but he continues his tirade.

He said: “I’ve spent thousands of pounds every f****** week. It’s f****** garbage.”
