Army football coach Jeff Monken said a week ago that he doesn't like playing Thursday night games. The flip side of that is he doesn't mind having two extra days to heal and prep for the following game.
However, whatever added edge Army might have gained from that scenario will certainly be negated when the Black Knights head to Alabama Birmingham on Saturday.
Having last played on Sept. 20 at Tennessee, the Blazers (2-2) not only had an extra week to prepare for Army's unique offense, but UAB already faced another option attack team, Navy, in September.
Army rolled to a 44-10 win over UAB a year ago at West Point, but the Blazers have made great strides under third-year head coach Trent Dilfer and talented quarterback Jalen Kitna, who ranks No. 5 nationally with 314 passing yards p
