INDIANAPOLIS -- An apartment complex fire on the west side of Indianapolis displaced several individuals and caused four injuries early Friday morning.
According to officials from the Wayne Township Fire Department, the department received a call of a fire at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Port Au Prince St. at around 3:18 a.m. on Friday.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, officials said there was heavy fire showing out the back of one of the apartments. The fire then reportedly made its way into the attic space of the apartment.
"We received multiple reports of entrapment," said Eric Banister, a captain with the Wayne Township Fire Department. "When crews arrived, we believe we had people that may have jumped off the second floor.
