Gromit Unleashed 3 auction results as one sculpture sells for an 'astonishing' price
A barnstorming auction on Thursday evening (October 2) took the total amount raised for charity by Gromit Unleashed 3 to the £2 million mark. Over 50 of the beloved sculptures — which had featured in a trail dotted all over Bristol and surrounding areas during July and August — were sold off in aid of The Grand Appeal during the event at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway .
The sculpture which attracted the highest bid was one which transformed Wallace and Gromit’s most iconic foe Feathers McGraw into Darth Vader, in a fusion of two of cinema’s most chilling depictions of evil.
‘Darth McGraw’ went for a staggering £70,000. By the end of the evening the total raised by the third iteration of Gromit Unleash
