Storm Amy is set to hit parts of Cambridgeshire this weekend, with high winds forecast. The Met Office has issued amber and yellow weather warnings of wind and rain for parts of the UK on Friday (October 3) and Saturday (October 4).
Although Cambridgeshire has not been issued either of these warnings, high winds are still expected to hit some areas. In Ely , winds will reach up to 28mph between 11am and midday on Saturday, while they will reach up to 27mph in St Neots at the same time.
In Peterborough and Cambridge, the wind will reach up to 26mph at around midday and 1pm. As a result of the high winds, Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough has had to cancel one of its major fundraising events, the Sue Ryder Starlight Hike.
