Celtic supporters were left furious on Thursday evening as VAR ruled out what looked to be a perfectly good goal from Kelechi Iheanacho, which would have levelled the scoring in their Europa League defeat to Braga at Celtic Park.

The Scottish champions were beaten 2-0 in the end but thought they had equalised through the former Middlesbrough loanee on 51 minutes. The striker intercepted a through ball before riding a challenge and finishing well into the bottom corner.

However, the goal was ruled out after a VAR check deemed him to have controlled the ball with his hand/arm on the way through to goal. However, quite what the VAR officials have seen has baffled many, with no evidence on any replays that Iheanacho did handle the ball.
