A former Nuneaton rogue roofer has been forced to pay out more than £100,000 to locals he ripped off. Darren Bullaman, who used to live in Hill Top, scammed four Nuneaton and Leamington Spa residents.

Warwickshire County Council Trading Standards Service said he ripped off his victims by over-charging for work to their roofs that was largely unnecessary. His trick was to start with a lower quote before finding more and largely fictitious 'problems' with the roofs he was working on.

In one case a Nuneaton resident who called Lee out to look at a leaky gutter ended up paying him over £43,000. Back in 2024, he was sentenced to a two-and-a-half-years imprisonment and handed a eight year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and an eight year director disqualification order.
