Sopore Police book two drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act

Sopore, Oct 03: As part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking across Jammu and Kashmir, Sopore Police have booked two habitual drug peddlers under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS Act), officials said on Friday. In a statement, a police spokesperson identified the accused as Umar Farooq Sheikh S/O Farooq Ahmad Sheikh R/O Seeloo Sopore – lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu and Abdul Hamid Mir S/O Abdul Rashid Mir R/O Janwara Sopore – lodged in District Jail, Poonch. Both are repeat offenders with multiple NDPS cases against them.
