Iwas shocked by an opinion piece published on Sept. 21, “ As a conservative, I feel targeted by Kirk’s death. ”

Does this writer have any idea how many people in America feel targeted every day they wake up because their skin is brown or black, they are in a same sex relationship, their religion is different, they have a disability, are homeless, their sex is in question?

The writer is surely free to live her life as she desires, just as all these other people should be, and yet some cannot because they fear Christians and conservatives will decide to ban books, shoot them in front of an abortion clinic or in their temple of worship or hang them from trees.

Somehow only one way of life is supposed to work for everyone? This is America, the melting pot — not America, land of my way o
