Mangaluru, Oct 3: The International Music Day Honour presented by Mandd Sobhann and Sumell has been announced for Mangaluru-based music teacher, Carmelita Alvares.

The honour will be conferred on October 5 during the 286th Monthly Theatre at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, at 6:30 pm. The honour will be presented by Mandd Sobhann president Louis Pinto, secretary Ronald Crasta and treasurer Sunil Monteiro, along with Sumell coordinator Raina Sequeira and Treasurer Clara Pinto.

Carmelita Alvares started her Musical Journey at the age of 9. She learned to play Violin and Keyboard, receiving training from music teachers like Marian Pinto, Vimala Lobo, and Gladys Silver.
