Ladakh Lt Governor Kavinder Gupta reviewed the security situation in the Union Territory as schools in violence-hit Leh reopened after a nine-day closure, officials reported.

Although assembly bans and mobile internet service suspensions remain, most restrictions have been gradually lifted, indicating improved conditions, officials confirmed.

The Lt Governor chaired a high-level security review in Leh, assessing the prevailing law and order following his return from a religious event in Jammu. The curfew, imposed on September 24 due to violence that left four dead, has been relaxed incrementally. Meanwhile, mobile internet services are still suspended across Ladakh.
