Philippines Earthquake: Death toll rises to 72, search and rescue ops conclude

Cebu Island [Philippines], October 3, 2025 (ANI): The death toll has risen to 72 after a massive 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines, UN news reported on Thursday.

According to local media reports, cited by UN News, search and rescue operations concluded on Wednesday.

According to UN news, more than 200 people were injured in Bogo, Medellin, and San Remigio, and over 1,11,000 people have been impacted, including 20,000 displaced, many of whom are camped outside their damaged homes or in the open.
