A large cordon is in place in Manchester city centre after a man was rushed to hospital following a fight.

Officers have taped off Thomas Street, in the Northern Quarter , near to Shudehill this morning (October 3).

Greater Manchester Police says officers were called out following a fight between two men.

One of the men involved suffered 'superficial wounds', the force says.

North West Ambulance Service attended the scene, with the injured man taken to hospital from the scene.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident, with enquiries ongoing this morning.
