President Donald Trump’s second term has been marked by a series of unconventional - and often unprecedented - actions. Yet despite the headlines, his approval ratings have remained relatively stable in recent months. Though historically low compared to past presidents, Trump's ratings have barely shifted since his first 100 days in office .
Most recently, the federal government shut down on Oct. 1 after Congress failed to reach a deal on funding. The shutdown comes during a turbulent second term in which Trump has deployed troops in U.S. cities, imposed widespread tariffs, and slashed federal spending - eliminating government jobs through the newly created Department of Government Efficiency. He’s also been repeatedly challenged in court for testing the limits of executive power.
