A Massachusetts man was denied parole after already receiving a chance at freedom three times.

Charles Chaples pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 1983 for the death of Raymond Santos in North Dartmouth. He was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Parole was denied following an initial hearing in 1997. It was denied again after a May 1 hearing. Overall, he has asked for parole 11 times.
