EAST TAWAS – AuSable Valley Audubon is celebrating World Migratory Bird Day in Iosco County with three separate events on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The first event will be at Tawas Point State Park at 8:30 a.m. for a guided bird walk to spy some of the migrating birds in the area. The group will meet by the feeding station near the lighthouse.
At 11 a.m., there will be two presentations at the Tawas Senior Center, located at 312 Newman St., East Tawas. Nick Theisen, from Huron Pines, will make a presentation on the data of the Piping Plover recovery on Lake Huron and Pam Carter, from AuSable Valley Audubon, will make a presentation on keeping your home safe for birds.
