A family-run party shop which has served a Cambridgeshire community for more than 30 years has closed. The Party Place in Saville Road, Peterborough , has provided balloons, party decorations, and fireworks for school proms, birthdays, christenings, and many more occasions for 34 years.

However, due to rising operational costs couple Paul and Patricia Shepherd, and their daughter Joanne Iacono have decided to close the shop. The family announced on social media on Tuesday (September 30) that the shop had closed.

Paul said it has been “fantastic” to run the shop for all that time. He added: “We’ve done lots of things for local people, councils, as well as lots of school proms, events people will always remember. I think everyone has been really pleased with us.
