BENGALURU: The state government has appealed to moviegoers to keep their ticket stubs safe after a recent High Court ruling on multiplex ticket pricing. Cinema goers have been asked to hold on to their tickets, whether physical or electronic, as proof of purchase in case of any disputes over ticket prices.

The appeal comes on the back of the High Court’s ruling on multiplex ticket pricing, staying the cap on ticket prices. The government said that if the court ultimately rules in favour of the petitioners, multiplexes may be required to refund excess charges to customers.

Multiplex owners will also be required to maintain accurate records of all ticket sales, including details of the tickets sold and the prices charged. The government’s move aims to protect the interests of consumers and
