Bhubaneswar: The Depression over interior Odisha continued its movement northwards on Friday, advancing at a speed of 18 kmph over the past six hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported.

At 2:30 PM IST, the system was centered over interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh near latitude 21.7°N and longitude 83.5°E. Its location was estimated to be 20 km south-southeast of Raigarh (Chhattisgarh), 50 km west-northwest of Sambalpur (Odisha), 140 km east-southeast of Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), 170 km south of Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh), and 200 km north of Bhawanipatna (Odisha).

According to the IMD, the depression is very likely to continue moving northwards across interior Odisha and adjoining north Chhattisgarh, before gradually weakening into a well-marked low pressure area
