BAY CITY, MI — Trial dates have been set for a Bay City man accused of strangling and dismembering a school custodian he met on a dating app.
Jury selection in Robert D. Tweedly Jr.’s trial is to begin Nov. 18 before Bay County Circuit Judge Joseph K. Sheeran. A backup date of Jan. 6 has also been scheduled.
Attorneys on either side of the case, though, say both dates are likely to be adjourned. Defense attorney James F. Piazza said he is still awaiting a transcript from an Aug. 26 preliminary examination and is planning to file several motions.
