EAST POINT, Ga. — A woman who ran for East Point City Council Ward B was arrested for allegedly abusing her foster children by forcing them to eat cat litter.

According to arrest warrants, Marie Terry fostered three children—two males and a female—at a home in East Point for over 10 years.

During that time, Terry allegedly disciplined the children by striking them with a skillet, a wooden grill scraper, and a plastic bat, causing pain and injuries.

The warrant states Terry also mentally abused the children and forced them to eat feces-riddled cat litter, sleep on a basement floor without a bed, and stay in a closet without light or windows, with the outside secured to prevent escape.

As a result, the children began running away.

Terry was booked into Fulton County Jail on three counts
