In 2025, there have been 13 Phoenix police shootings, seven fatal.

Five occurred between January and May. The rest happened after Matt Giordano took over the Police Department in August.

Community activists pointed out the uptick in shootings under Giordano's leadership, saying they wouldn't allow the normalization of police violence.
