Cricket ― it’s kind of like baseball. In fact some historians say our “national pastime” evolved from this sport, also played on a field, using a bat, ball and gloves, but that’s where the similarities end.

In cricket, it’s not a pitcher on the mound, it’s a bowler in the crease. It’s not a catcher behind the plate, it’s a wicket keeper behind the stumps. But the ball? It’s still called a ball.
