Scottish households, as well as the rest of the UK, are being urged to stay indoors and only travel if it is completely necessary as Storm Amy batters the country. ‌

The Met Office has issued a series of yellow and amber weather warnings across Scotland, with the first amber wind warning predicted to start at 5pm today (October 3), causing chaos with some gusts of wind expected to hit up to 100mph in western Scotland. ‌

As a result, weather experts are urging households to make sure all their windows and doors are firmly shut and to take extra precautions as the first named storm of the season sweeps through the nation. ‌
