Bristol City Council is unlikely to enforce public rights of way on Stoke Lodge playing fields until a government ruling. Cotham School is putting a fence back up around the playing fields, blocking public rights of way for which the council is legally obliged to keep access open.

However the council is waiting on the government to confirm its decision earlier this year that there are public rights of way across the fields . It’s not known how long this will take, and council staff complained that the government was ghosting them.
