Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Japan's Transport Minister Hiromasa Nakano were in Surat on Friday to inspect the high-speed rail construction site, part of India's first bullet train project.
The visit highlights a robust partnership between India and Japan in establishing the rail corridor. Vaishnaw and Nakano evaluated critical elements such as the track slab adjustment system, and they lauded the project's quality and speedy progress.
The ministers also covered the Bandra Kurla Complex bullet train station in Mumbai, noting key advancements in excavation and infrastructure. Scheduled for completion by 2029, the project is set to redefine travel time across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
