Worried parents in West Lothian have raised concerns over a 'dangerous' crossing to reach a primary school .

This comes after new homes were constructed in the area, bringing changes to the pavements and road outside the Livingston school. Parents claim children are 'confused', as well as adults and drivers , suggesting 'several near misses' have occurred near Calderwood Primary School on Nethershiel Road.

One parent told Edinburgh Live traffic in the area was 'terrible'. West Lothian Council chiefs told us they were aware of the concerns, and stressed 'the paramount importance of pupil safety in the area'.

They also said they are recruiting a school crossing guide to assist children - and confirmed the roads are 'still to be formally adopted'. The new homes come from Stirling Dev
