Two of the candidates in the heated race for attorney general of Alabama - Jay Mitchell and Katherine Robertson - raised about the same amount of money in September, according to their campaign finance reports filed Thursday.

Mitchell, who resigned from the Alabama Supreme Court to run for the office, raised $130,900, bringing his total for the campaign to $2.17 million.

Robertson, chief counsel for Attorney General Steve Marshall, raised $137,956 in September, bringing her total amount raised to $1.96 million.

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey raised $1,535 in September and has now raised a total of $75,860. Casey loaned her campaign $500,000.
